I'm dedicated to autocross at both the local and national levels. Depending on the year, I'm either just having a good time with the sport, or seriously committed to competing against the best drivers in my class.

I've autocrossed two very solid Honda vehicles: the BB3 Prelude, and the EF Civic hatchback.

Have owned my 1998 base-model Prelude since July 2001, I can say with authority that it's a great all-around car. I participated in autocross events and competed in HPDEs with it from September of 2002 through summer 2004. Despite the Prelude's relatively high curb weight, it was still competitive against lighter and nimbler vehicles in STS.

In the fall of 2004, a new era began: I retired the Prelude for race purposes and retuned it for comfortable street driving. In an effort to "get serious" with my efforts in STS-class autocross, I moved to the proven '88-91 EF Civic hatchback chassis.

I competed in my first one - a 1990 Si - between the fall of 2004 through March 2005, but unfortunately crashed it in Glenwood Canyon, Colorado while returning from a national event.

In May 2005 I purchased a perfect, stock 1989 black Civic Si to replace the damaged 1990 model, then spent the next two years modifying and refining it within the limits of the SCCA Solo STS class rules. I've also invested a lot of effort learning to extract maximum performance both from this particular vehicle and myself.

In September of 2007, I finished in a trophy position (13th out of 50 drivers in class) at the National Solo Championships in Topeka, Kansas - not a bad end to the summer season.

But just as important as the competition are the friends I've made and fun I've had through this sport. I'm very glad I discovered autocross, and I hope to remain a member of the close-knit autocross community.
